this board is for all those members who are no longer on the site. these are the threads they were in before they disappeared.

a nice place for your characters to talk without the prying ears of others... in theory.

and this is where your character spills their guts.

there are many classes to choose from at hogwarts, and this is where the learning happens. there are also a few unused rooms for miscellaneous activies.

the library is open most of the day. studying, homework, or just plain old quiet time can be preformed here. food and drink is forbidden here. speaking of forbidden, access to the forbidden section will not be permitted without a note from a teacher or other hogwarts official. you have been warned!

this magical room can only be accessed by those who truly need something from its secret folds. it's located on the seventh floor opposite a tapestry.

there are the bathrooms for the students, and the bathrooms for the prefects and head students. also, a forgotten, unused bathroom inhabited by the loud, whiny ghost of a young woman.

a home away from home. the common rooms are for sleeping in, chatting with friends, and general lazing about.

the kitchens are found right under the great hall. to get there, you must first tickle the pair on a large portrait in a hallway off the entrance hall. this is where the house elves cook the food for meals, and hungry students go for snacks.

surrounding hogwarts, there are meters and meters of rolling green grass. a good place to stretch out, run or something like that.

the flowerbeds don't have much of a purpose, other than to please the eye of those who need to see something pleasant after double potions.

do not go near this violent tree that strikes anything near it if you value your body parts.

forbidden to students! the forbidden forest is where some animals of the magical world dwell. some of them are harmless, but a good lot of them would not be pleasant to run into in the dead of night...

the greenhouses are where the herbology professor teaches her class. it's a number of large buildings with glass walls to let the light in. this is also where various magical plants grow. cures to certain ailments, potion ingredients, etc.

hogsmeade is where the students go when they need a short holiday. students are only allowed in hogsmeade during the school year with an adult or on one of the school trips. once there, the student can go into any shop they like for the day. stay out of the shrieking shack and don't go beyond the fences.

tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the leaky cauldron in london will reveal an archway which is a portal into diagon alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. it is unquestionably the hub of commerce in the british wizarding world, with virtually every wizarding business stationed there.

just around the corner from diagon alley lies a dark, twisting alleyway devoted to the dark arts: knockturn alley. not only are the wares sold their a bit dodgy, but the wizards hanging around behave fairly suspiciously as well. from the shops and the street vendors one can purchase, among other things, shrunken heads, poisonous candles, human-looking fingernails, and flesh-eating slug repellent.

the ministry of magic is like the government to muggles. there are different branches that cover most everything that could go wrong in the wizarding world. mostly, their purpose is to keep the wizarding world from being discovered in mass by muggles.

saint mungo's employs healers that treat to magical injuries. hogwarts students are admitted to saint mungo's if their injuries are too intense for the hogwarts infirmary.
