HEY 'NOTHER ONE!!
basics
name;; Lucy Wade
sex;; Female
birth date;; June 26th, 1960
blood status;; Muggleborn
school
house;;Hufflepuff
year;;7th
details
personality;;
Peace, love and flowers.
Lucy is of the foolish idea that everyone should just get along and love each other, and that this is a perfectly realistic ideal. She is completely impartial to age, race, interests, occupation, and anything else that normally defines a person. There are certain qualities in a person that she favors above others, but also thinks that everyone has the potential to change – they just need to realize what’s really important in life.
This might be why she doesn’t succeed much, as a student. Moderately quiet, she’s not obvious about her interests or feelings and she doesn’t seem to try to be talented. Not clumsy, but not good at much. Magic isn’t as exciting to her as it had seemed when she first got her letter (it had come as a surprise while she was out of the country). She prefers being a Muggle; she just can't get used to living with magic. She'd considered leaving Hogwarts in the past, but only the fear of missing a once-in-a-lifetime experience and possibly regretting it kept her there, barely passing, until her final year.
She’s enthusiastic about few things, but they’re broad, indefinable things – life, love, and people. Living satisfies her without the extra embellishments of good grades, money, or “happiness” brought on by material wealth. Even at the age of seventeen, she’s not sure what she’s passionate about. This makes her very easy to manipulate, and she loves to experiment.
She feels that she is very wise, and with her lifestyle she has a lot that she could teach the generally close-minded, academic-oriented population of Hogwarts.
With Lucy, it’s all about the love – emotionally, and physically. She’s not so into the movement that she’d bang anything that mildly suited her fancy, but those who earn her interest often have her biting her lip, looking at them suggestively and positively burning inside. Despite her fondness of corporeal lovin’, she believes in monogamy when “I love you” comes into play. She’s never met anyone that deserved those words.
She’s quiet in a loud way – speaking out only when something has to be said, but consistently maintaining a presence within a group. Her slow, sure movements and confident speech make her not intimidating, but comforting. She prefers one-on-one relationships to being in groups, since she strives for understanding of people. She’s exceptionally observant and respectful, and when someone speaks to her she takes in every word, and wouldn’t dream of interrupting. She often makes people feel as if she’s clinging to them, but at the same time can be so fiercely independent that people avoid her.
She’s at peace with herself and, she feels, with the world, and allows life to pick her up and carry her while she sways, quiet and contentedly, in its ebbing flow. Almost nothing troubles her. Unlike most perfectly happy young (female) adults, though, she doesn’t celebrate her bliss by being bubbly or giggling. She smiles, observes and... well, loves.
physical description;;
Tall, dark-skinned and lean with a decidedly murderous figure, Lucy’s physical appearance is little suited to her personality. She looks well equipped to live, untamed, in a jungle among feral foxes and cats. Her hair is a wild collection of long, spindly curls, forming a soft, dark mane around her head that stands out a good handspan-and-a-half from her head. She looks extremely out of place sitting in a classroom with her wizards’ robes, sucking on quills or staring, nonplussed, at professors.
When escaping the Hogwarts uniform, she’s comfortable in loose, earth-toned clothing and delights in jewelry that comes from foreign countries. She sits often with her head tilted slightly down and eyes tilted up, never completely raising her head as if she’s trying to stay physically “down-to-Earth”.
family History;;
The passing of her childhood is not marked by birthdays or bicycles, but by protests and peace convoys. Sit-ins, road-blocks, rallies, summer pilgrimages to music festivals at Stonehenge, trips, even, to the United States to participate in anti-war efforts kept her out of school for most of the time and very aware of the world around her. She lives with her mother who moves around so often that in some cities, they don’t even bother looking for flats or hotels to stay in. Her mother is kind, strong-willed and opinionated, and they often have the good fortune to be invited to live in eager young men’s flats for the time they spend in a certain town, mostly because she’s so likable. Lucy is somewhat ashamed of the flamboyance with which her mother lives off other people’s generosity, but is guilty about feeling that way.
Not long after Lucy was born in England, her father had left after realizing how into the “love movement” his partner (Lucy’s mother) was getting. It wasn’t a dramatic exit or abandonment, but a polite agreement that the sex was good, but they didn’t swing together otherwise. Lucy and her mother have an age difference of fifteen years. Lucy’s mother and her father had had an age difference of the same amount.
When the Hogwarts letter arrived in a tent Lucy had been staying in while she was temporarily in the States, she was bewildered. The event had her small family packing and returning to London, where her grandparents lived. Some small investigations realized that Lucy was the second witch in the family in sixty years; the last one was already dead.
Very uncertain about how she felt about magic, she went to Hogwarts with her head down and feet shuffling, shy and nervous. The continued summers of unpredictable living, however, made her more confident, but also more indifferent. Hogwarts was where she’d rather not be, and the rest of the world (wherever she ended up) was her home.
patronus;; She’s never been able to produce one.
