« Tess hates school.
Hates it, hates it, hates it.
Her blatant dislike of school is partly from the constant teasing of her heritage, but mostly because of her laziness. Tess enjoys classes like Defense Against the Dark Arts, especially when there are spells learned, but if the teacher insists on doing reading and lots of homework, forget it. Tess will more likely than not copy something from her books and turn that in. She usually gets detention for this, but in her opinion, it's not so bad. I mean, how bad feeding the Flobberworms be?
Tess is also very outspoken. If she has an opinion, you can bet she'll give it. However, the difference between her opinion and the teacher's often leads to heated debates and more detention. As a result, Tess spends most of her afternoons in detention.
But when Tess isn't in detention, some people—and I say some for a reason—find her quite enjoyable. Being the oldest in a family of four, she has learned that spending time alone is a rare and most wonderful occasion, so she seizes every chance to do so. She's like a Jack Russell terrier puppy—she doesn't know when to shut her mouth. So, if there's nobody for her to talk to, she talks to her cat, Garfield (not named after the comic), or her owl, Charli.
Despite her love of talking, Tess is very shy. She tries to avoid meeting people, but in Hogwarts, that is very difficult. She has several close friends, but very few in her own house of Ravenclaw, as she spends most of her time in her dorm.
Tess is very stubborn. It doesn't matter what you say, she will always stick to her opinions of whatever it is she is debating about. She is also very unpredictable; if you tell her to do one thing, she may do it. Or, she may not. Sometimes, she even does it, then takes things a step-and-a-half further, to nicely bungle things up.
Tess is highly independent. She will refuse any help from anyone, even if she needs it. And she also refuses to ask anyone for anything, if she can avoid it. That means talking to strangers, and Tess isn't too fond of that idea. »
physical description;;
« Tess is very tall for a sixteen year old girl--about five feet, nine and a half inches tall. Her hazel eyes are usually cool and calm; they have a most unsettling gaze that she can turn on whenever she pleases. By looking at her, one can never tell what she is feeling. Her flame-red hair is straight until her shoulders, then gets wavy to her waist.. Her high cheekbones were made prominent by years of scrimping and pinching to make ends meet. She is very slender, and although nobody has ever had occasion to find out, she is so skinny that her ribs can easily be counted. She has a surprisingly firm chin. It mingles nicely with her strong jaw. When she sets it, it has a most intimidating air. »
family History;;
Before the Siblings
« Tess was born on March 23, 1959, the firstborn in her family. She, her mother Jo, and her father Timothy lived in a small townhouse in London, England. Her dad worked for the prime minister, and her mother was a stay at home mother. Ann attended a public Catholic school until she got the letter inviting her to Hogwarts. »
After the Siblings
« Then, the siblings started arriving. The twins arrived first. Derek and Darren were born on March 20, 1961. Derek looked like his sister: wavy blonde hair and light blue eyes. Darren had black hair and dark brown eyes, like his mom. After the twins came Darryl. He didn't look anything like his family. He had bright orange hair with natural darker red highlights and dark blue eyes, and, unlike his siblings, wears glasses. Jo is expecting another baby in five months, another boy.
Even with Timothy's good salary, it is difficult to make ends meet. The rent and doctor visits take up most of that salary, leaving only ten pounds (or, as Tess would say with her Cockney accent, either ten quid or ten knicker) for food and clothes. Tess would eat as much as she could at the Catholic school she went to so that when she got home, she wouldn't be hungry. This left more food for the always-screaming babies and her hassled mother. She began to spend more and more time secluded in her bedroom, in hopes that she will be left alone, and just so things wouldn't get too quiet, began to talk to her cat. »

~Just so ya know, this is from a plot, I didn't have any good intros ready…Sorry.
Oh, and Tess isn't a werewolf. Like I said, this is from a plot.~
She was late. Never before in her six years here at Hogwarts, not even in her first year when she was prone to getting lost, was she late even once. So you can imagine how flustered Tess Harris was when she left her dormitory.
As the Ravenclaw rushed down the nearly empty halls, she tried to straighten her tie, but gave up as she started down the Grand Staircase, deciding to do it during class. /If/ she didn’t get in trouble.
Tess shuddered as she turned into an all but empty corridor and started counting doors. She simply dreaded class this morning, for it was Defense Against the Dark Arts, taught by none other than Severus Snape. What made things worse was the fact that Draco Malfoy, who, most unfortunately, was also in all of her other classes, would probably give her a remarkably hard time for this. And a hard time was exactly what Tess didn’t need right now, what with full moon being right around the corner. She still had haunting nightmares from what happened the last time she transformed…
Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and slipped inside. *Great,* she thought as she quickly maneuvered her way to a seat in the back, just behind Malfoy, *he’s already in front. I am /so/ going to get detention /again/.*
The sixteen-year-old slid into her seat and pulled her copy of Confronting the Faceless out of her messenger bag before dropping the black bag and her black Tinker Bell knapsack on the floor beside her chair. She laid the thick book on her desk, but didn't bother to open it; rather, she leaned forward, propped her head up with her hand and sighed softly, her bangs flying upward and messing her chin-length, chocolate brown hair. As long as Snape hadn't noticed she was late, she was probably not going to get detention. /And/ she might still get her wolfsbane potion from him after class.
